How is a 4-Hour Work Week in Real Estate Possible?
Real Estate Coach on Demand, Lisa B, has had her life turned around for the better. Through believing in the 4-Hour Work Week in Real Estate, she enjoys a better work environment and balanced life overall. Here’s how:
If you haven’t read the book The 4-Hour Work Week by Tim Ferriss you should. This book has the potential to change the way you think about how you operate in real estate — FOREVER.
How good is it? This is the only book in my entire life where I have purchased the audible, the paperback and the CDs. I’ve also bought it for many friends. It is that good!
I’ve written about The Four-Hour Work Week in Real Estate on a number of occasions before, because I truly believe that real estate agents can benefit greatly from the information. Why? The author Tim Ferriss has the unique ability to excel at just about anything he puts his mind to. He doesn’t stop until he ‘gets it’. He researches. He learns. He implements. He conquers.
How a 4-Hour Work Week in Real Estate can work for you
This book is about how Tim perfected working less hours, whilst working remotely, earning a great income.
Why then is it suitable for real estate agents (just to be clear, The 4-Hour Work Week is not about only working 4 hours a week)? The Four-Hour Work Week offers real estate agents solutions and strategies to organise their time better. To think like business people.
It’s about how to use technology to make your life easier — instead of going into the office every day. It’s about outsourcing tasks to save you doing them. It’s about looking at what you are doing and executing it better. It’s all about making your life more efficient.
Turn over a new page, as well as a new life
The very first time I read this book all I could think about was… If only I had access to this information many years ago.
Why? Real Estate Agents are renowned for working far too many hours, trying to do too many things without help… and a lot don’t have regular time off.
Is it we want to be in control? Our lack of knowledge? Limited resources? Or is it the fear of missing out on deals?
I’m going with all 4.
- Control — The mentality that no one is going to do the job as well as we can. Could you imagine if Richard Branson had those thoughts? He would not be where he is today… no leader would
- Lack of resources — Who can we get to help us? Our job is to work out what we can outsource to whom
- Management — How the heck do we manage it all, and
- Fear — We may miss out on listings or sales, therefore lose money if we have time off.
We need to change the way we think. We need to reconsider what the ‘norm’ is in real estate. We need to work out better ways. We need to challenge the norm.
The basis of the book centres around the acronym DEAL
- Definition: Get clear and decide what you want
- Elimination: Get rid of unproductive tasks
- Automation: Automate as much as you can, and
- Liberation: At times, work from wherever you want. The aim is more freedom.
